Pristine rain forests, black sand beaches, the world's most active volcano,
beautiful sunrises, and just about every vacation activity you could

With a direct view of the ocean, you may spend your whole vacation simply
gazing
at the waves, though the cottage is the perfect home base for exploring
the unique natural and cultural heritage of the Big Island. Hilo, located
just 35-minutes away, is the orchid growing capital of the world, and
is home to several magnificent botanical gardens, museums, galleries, and
restaurants. Hilo hosts a wonderful farmer's market every Wednesday and
Saturday with a bounty of tropical fruits and flowers. The main attraction
is Volcanoes National Park, a scenic 45-minute drive, where you can witness the
formation of the newest land on the planet.
All across the Big Island you'll find quaint towns with specialty shops,
native crafts, and a variety of international cuisines. The closest town is relaxed
Pahoa, which has grocery stores, banks, restaurants, and other conveniences.
Rainbow Dreams Cottage is situated in an alternative energy area with solar
power. And, without phones or T.V.'s, you really get away from it all.
